The Journey is Our to take Together

This piece was an experiment between my typical traditional ink style and my dabbling in sculpture. Inspired by paper artist Isobelle Ouzman’s book carvings, I created this piece as an aniversary gift to my parents. The construction took a lot of structural planning of each individual layer, and then separating and gluing sections of pages together to create substanstial material to carve into for each layer and achieve depth between the layers. The project took over 2 months to complete, but I was very pleased with the final piece.
